FAQ's

How long will my treatment take?

Each persons health status and journey to optimal health will be different. Factors affecting how long this may take include: The length of time your symptoms have been present or developing, how closely you are able to stick to the dietary and supplement prescription and how your body responds to therapeutic pressure of detoxification; these will all come into play.

We will discuss my recommendations with regards to length of treatment during our follow up call included in the first consultation.

Some changes in symptoms are likely to be seen between 2-6 weeks following a nutritional therapy program. Re-assessments will allow me to increase or decrease therapeutic pressure throughout treatment, optimising this process.

The minimum time I recommend to allow the body time to reset & reset digestive function: improving absorption of nutrients and optimising detoxification and cellular repair is 3 months. This gives your body a chance to adapt to the changes we have introduced and allow it to begin the full healing process.

What can nutritional therapy & Ayurveda help with?

Nutritional Therapy & Ayurveda can assist with many symptoms, health conditions and complaints. It can be used as a tool to discover and address potential root causes of imbalance and to improve the function of your body's organs and systems including: Digestion, sleep, lack of energy, skin health, fertility, chronic illness, immune system dysfunction, detoxification & optimise nutritional intake for health maintenance.

Will I have to eat salad forever to stay healthy?

Your dietary prescription will be adjusted at different stages throughout your treatment, which will allow for more flexibility to enjoy the things you love. The goal is not to keep you on a restrictive diet forever, but to remove many potential triggering foods that burden the body for a period of time; allowing the body to begin the healing process. Certain foods can be reintroduced later in the plan, and others foods you may find you no longer crave. My plans very rarely involve salad! Raw food is kept to a minimum during the first stages of many of my dietary prescriptions. This allows your digestive system to rest so the body can devote it's energies towards healing.

*As a complimentary therapy, nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical advice. Nutritional therapy can work very well as a stand alone practice for health optimisation, or alongside medical treatment with the agreement of your doctor.

If any ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms are uncovered during the course of your treatment, I will always refer you to your GP for their medical opinion.

I frequently work with multi disciplinary practitioners and may recommend we add another complimentary therapy to work alongside your nutritional program to optimise your journey towards health. This could take the form of chiropractic care, accupuncture, reflexology or colonic irrigation to name just a few.
